National Coordination of Women Human Labor Rights Defenders

The National Coordination of Women Human Labor Rights Defenders (Coordinadora Nacional de Defensoras de Derechos Humanos Laborales/CNDDHL) is a project that articulates a diversity of women worker organizations in Mexico and women human labor rights defense collectives.

This process was launched in 2013 as a ProDESC initiative. It is integrated by domestic workers, maquila workers, agricultural workers, and seasonal migrant workers, all of whom are women. The Coordination is a political space and a collective organization that seeks to generate advocacy and participation proposals to strengthen the comprehensive defense of women workers human labor rights.

One of the most important characteristics of this project is that it provides a space to strengthen the participating organizations. It also contributes to the construction of networks devoted to solidarity, collective learning, analysis, and critical reflection regarding the conditions experienced by women workers.

The CNDDHL is an unprecedented organizational effort within the labor movement in Mexico, since it places an emphasis on the working conditions of women in four of the most disadvantaged, marginal, and vulnerable sectors of the national economy.
